Role Description
This is an on-site Wildland Fire role located in Dawson Creek, BC. The role involves conducting fire prevention measures, ensuring fire safety, supporting life safety protocols, and managing fire suppression systems. Daily tasks include participation in fire response activities, maintaining fire protection equipment, evaluating fire hazards, and adhering to regulations to mitigate risk. The position demands physical activity in various environmental conditions and collaboration with a skilled team to uphold Malachite’s reputation for efficient and professional operations.
Qualifications
- Experience in Fire Prevention and implementing practices to reduce wildfire hazards.
- Proficiency in Life Safety and Fire Safety protocols to ensure comprehensive safety measures are in place.
- Knowledge of Fire Protection systems and regulations relevant to forestry operations.
- Expertise in Fire Suppression Systems and operational response techniques in wildland fire scenarios.
- Strong physical fitness and adaptability to work in remote and challenging outdoor environments.
- Sound decision-making and organizational skills under challenging or time-sensitive situations.
- Valid certifications aligned with wildland firefighting standards and safety protocols are an asset (e.g., ICS certification, S-100 or S-185).
- Previous experience in forestry or silviculture industries is an asset but not mandatory.
