About The Project
Cross Fraser Partnership (CFP) is a Bouygues Construction Canada Inc., Fomento de Construcciones y Contratas Canada Ltd., Pomerleau BC Inc. and Arcadis Canada Inc. general partnership that has been selected to collaboratively deliver a new, eight-lane immersed tube tunnel that will replace the existing George Massey Tunnel on Highway 99. The new tunnel will have three vehicle lanes and a dedicated transit lane in each direction, with a separated active transportation corridor for cyclists and pedestrians.
Position Overview
We are seeking an Environmental Monitor to join our CFP team in British Columbia.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement environmental plans, including the Environmental Protection Plan, Erosion Control Plan, and Waste Management Plan.
- Provide expertise to the project team on environmental issues such as water quality and sensitive environments.
- Assist in achieving certification objectives and target requirements for environmental standards.
- Conduct regular site visits to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and complete monitoring reports.
- Maintain environmental performance indicators, including non-conformities and spills, and document them accordingly.
- Report deviations from environmental standards and assist with regulatory reporting.
- Develop proactive solutions to maintain environmental compliance and meet certification process objectives.
- Collaborate with the project team to create construction methodologies that minimize environmental impact.
- Educate and train team members on environmental practices and compliance requirements.
Education And Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, biology, engineering, or a similar field.
- Professional designation (RPBio, P.Ag, P.Eng, etc.) or willingness to obtain
- Experience in the environmental field, preferably in marine construction projects.
- Experience on construction worksites, with previous work with a contractor being an asset.
- Strong understanding of environmental challenges and impacts in construction.
- Knowledge of municipal, provincial, and federal environmental regulations.
- Technical and sampling experience.
- Ability to work on a multidisciplinary team.
- Comfortable working in a remote project site environment.
- Ability to manage environmental documentation using Procore.

The expected salary range for this opportunity is $70,000 - 80,000. Please note that salaries may vary depending on the candidate’s experience and geographical location.
