Role Description The Health and Safety Coordinator is a full-time, on-site role based in Hamilton, ON. This role is responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and maintenance of health and safety programs for client sites, ensuring alignment with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and related regulations. Day-to-day tasks include conducting workplace inspections, hazard assessments, and incident investigations, as well as preparing reports and recommending corrective actions. The Health and Safety Coordinator will assist in developing and delivering safety training, toolbox talks, and orientation sessions, and in maintaining documentation such as policies, procedures, and safety records. The role also involves collaborating with clients, contractors, and internal team members to promote a strong safety culture, monitor compliance, and support continuous improvement in health and safety performance.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 to 5 years in a full time Health and Safety Position with a company based in Ontario, Canada.
- Strong knowledge of Health & Safety principles, legislation, and best practices, with experience applying them in the field.
- Experience in Environment Health and Safety (EHS) and Workplace Safety, including hazard identification and risk assessment.
- Background in Occupational Health, including ergonomics, incident reporting, and return-to-work or modified duties coordination.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver Safety Training, toolbox talks, and orientations to diverse audiences.
- Post-secondary education in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g., CRSP, CHSC, NCSO) are an asset.
- Strong communication, documentation, and report-writing skills, with attention to detail and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to work independently on client sites, manage multiple priorities, and build effective working relationships.
- Experience in sectors such as construction, manufacturing, or industrial environments is an asset; valid G Class driver’s license with a clean drivers abstract minimum four years (4 Years).
