Objectives
HSE Administrator is responsible for providing Heath, Safety and Environment (HSE) support and guidance on activities related to COSL HSE Management System (HSMS) effectiveness and COSL Management support. This will be a generalized role that provides both HSE and administrative support to CCL’s Nisku facility. This is a Junior HSE role and as such HSE specific certification is not mandatory.
12 Month Contract
Responsibilities:
- Have knowledge and awareness of CCL and Client standards, policies, procedures, guidance, industry best practices and regulatory requirements, where required for the fulfillment of their duties.
- Comply with all CCL and Client standards, policies, procedures, guidance industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Support the implementation of HSE programs and initiatives applicable to the Nisku facility
- Fostering a culture of proactive safety, environmental stewardship, and quality throughout the organization by providing visible leadership, setting expectations, and promoting employee engagement and accountability
- Maintain, organize and ensure accuracy of HSE documents, including policies, procedures, manuals, incident reports, inspection records, training materials, and regulatory permits.
- Support communication of actual and potential hazards and their controls to employees, contractors, and visitors
- Maintain inventory of HSE equipment, supplies, and personal protective equipment (PPE). Coordinate procurement and replenishment as necessary.
- Prepare agendas, presentations, and meeting materials for HSE meetings. Take meeting minutes and distribute action items to attendees as needed.
- Assist HSE Specialist Admin and Data with use and functions of the ISN system.
- Assist in communication of HSE information to employees and contractors through newsletters, bulletin boards, and other communication channels.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of HSE data in databases and software systems. Perform regular data validation and assurance tasks.
- Carry out specific QHSE department projects or assigned tasks related to the Nisku facility and local operational support
- Support local transportation and logistics safety coordination related to Nisku daily operations
- Support facility personnel with HSE activities including FLHA generation, safety meetings, inspections, incident investigations, hazard assessment and control and emergency response.
- Assist in onboarding and orientations for CCL personnel and contractors who will be working on site
Qualifications & Experience
- 0-2 years experience in Occupational Health and Safety.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership characteristics with ability to collaborate with multiple operations disciplines and organization levels.
- Experience coordinating with contractors, drivers, and logistics personnel in support of safe daily operations.
- Experience maintaining inventory, operational records, and documentation in warehouse or industrial environments.
- Experience supporting both HSE compliance and administrative/operational tasks in a fast-paced facility setting.
- Experience and ability to engage and collaborate with external stakeholders (i.e. contractors).
- Ability to assess and interpret statistical analysis, trending.
- Ability to lead, coach and mentor internal and external stakeholders (i.e. Internal Field Operations and HSE Team Members, Contractors).
- Ability to meet internal HSE reporting and requirements.
- Ability to develop and present HSE related content.
- Ability to deliver HSE training and presentation in small to large audiences.
- Advanced skills and experience with MS Office suite. (Power BI, Microsoft Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Familiar with transportation safety program requirements and implementation a strong asset. Training will be provided.
- Experience working in a warehouse or shop setting is considered an asset.
