ECOWorks Job Board ("ECOWorks", "we", "us", "our") is a product of ECO Canada, operated to connect environmental professionals with meaningful career opportunities across Canada. In providing this service, we are committed to protecting the personal information of every job seeker, employer, and visitor who uses our platform.
This Privacy Policy governs how ECOWorks collects, uses, stores, and discloses personal information in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), and Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
What personal information we collect

Job seekers
- Full name, email address, phone number, and location
- Resume, work history, education, and professional certifications
- Job preferences, saved searches, and application history
- Profile photo (if provided)

Employers and hiring organizations
- Company name, address, and contact information
- Billing and payment information for job postings and credits
- Names and email addresses of account users
- Job posting content and hiring activity
All users

Why we collect your information
We collect personal information only for specific, legitimate purposes directly related to operating the ECOWorks Job Board platform. These include:

- Matching job seekers with relevant job postings
- Enabling employers to post roles and review applications
- Processing payments for job credits and subscriptions
- Sending transactional emails such as application confirmations, job alerts, and account notifications
- Sending marketing communications where you have provided consent (you may withdraw consent at any time)

Job seekers: Your profile and resume are visible to employers on ECOWorks only to the extent you choose to make them available. We do not share your personal information with third parties outside the platform without your consent, except as outlined in this policy.
Employers: Your contact and billing information is used to manage your account, process payments, and communicate about your job postings.
All users: We may use aggregated, non-identifiable data for internal analytics, product improvement, and reporting. This data cannot be used to identify you personally.
Sharing your information
ECOWorks does not sell, rent, barter, or trade your personal information.
We may share your information with trusted third-party service providers who support the operation of the platform — including payment processors, email delivery services, analytics providers, and cloud hosting providers. All such third parties are contractually bound to handle your data in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable Canadian privacy law.
We may also disclose your personal information when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of ECOWorks, ECO Canada, our users, or the public.

ECOWorks Job Board may contain links to third-party websites including employer websites, industry resources, and partner platforms. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these external sites. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before submitting any personal information.
Children's privacy
ECOWorks Job Board is intended for use by individuals 18 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has submitted information to our platform, please contact us and we will promptly remove it.
Changes to this policy
We review this Privacy Policy periodically and may update it to reflect changes in our practices, platform features, or applicable law. We will post any updates on this page and, where the changes are significant, notify registered users by email.
