This full-time role offers the chance to work on challenging environmental projects while continuing to develop your technical skills. As our company continues to grow, particularly in Alberta, there is potential for this position to evolve into a leadership role, including the opportunity to help shape and build a local team. As a Senior Environmental Professional, you can expect to spend time both in the field and in the office. In addition to always adhering to Strum’s health and safety program and ensuring safety procedures and protocols are followed, your typical day could also include the following:Leading small to mid-scale environmental projects from planning through to delivery, including budgeting, scheduling, field coordination, and client/regulator communicationSupporting proposal development, including drafting scopes of work, budgets, and technical contentIdentifying new opportunities and nurturing client relationships through responsive communication and reliable project deliveryCompleting Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessment (ESAs) including both field and reporting tasksOverseeing the drilling of boreholes using various techniques, logging soil, collecting soil samples, and field-screening soil samplesInstalling and developing groundwater monitoring wells and collecting groundwater samplesCollecting other types of field samples as needed (e.g., surface water, air, asbestos, lead paint, etc.)Compiling clear, concise, and accurate field notesPreparing regulatory submissions including Records of Site ConditionSupporting existing field and reporting teams while demonstrating ability to work independently and as part of a larger close-knit teamWhat you bring to Strum:You bring a positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, a professional demeanour, and excellent verbal and written communication skills to your team. You are physically capable and willing to perform fieldwork duties and can work independently and as part of a close-knit team.
