The Opportunity
We are currently looking for a Structural Revit Designer to join our team in-person in Calgary, contributing to the creation of detailed ZS2 TechPanel designs for our various construction projects throughout North America. To be successful the successful candidate will be accountable for utilizing Revit to panelize drawings from various file sources, to produce engineering sets, shop drawings, and installation guides for each project.
Key Responsibilities
· Design Integration: Interpret architectural plans along with structural plans and integrate ZS2 TechPanel components seamlessly, ensuring accurate representation of walls, floors, roofs, openings, and connection details.
· Revit Modeling: Develop comprehensive 3D Revit models that capture all elements required for ZS2 TechPanel fabrication, including panel dimensions, insulation dimensions and placement, structural elements, and accurate joint connections.
· Technical Documentation: Generate detailed manufacturing drawings, panel layouts, assembly instructions, and other documentation necessary for the efficient production of ZS2 TechPanels.
· Collaboration: Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and production teams to address design-related challenges and ensure smooth communication throughout the design-to-manufacturing process.
· Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough reviews of Revit models and drawings to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with manufacturing standards and project requirements.
· Continuous Improvement: Stay up to date with advancements in Structural Insulated Panel (SIP) manufacturing technologies, Revit capabilities, and industry best practices to enhance the efficiency and quality of SIP design and production.
· Project Coordination: Work closely with project managers to ensure that ZS2 TechPanel designs are completed within set timelines and project milestones are met.
Qualifications & Skills
· Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
· Proven experience as a Structural/Architectural designer with a strong portfolio; experience in Prefabricated/Modular construction, panelized construction, manufacturing documentation, and SIP projects is considered a strong asset.
· Minimum 4 years experience in REVIT, BIM operation and design working on building projects.
· Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit and BIM workflows, including parametric families development, material take-off, central models collaboration and multi-user synchronization e.g. SketchUp, Mitek...etc.
· Create, develop and maintain project design Revit models and drawings in accordance with established standards and design principals.
· Review & Coordinate with other engineering/ architectural disciplines models and drawings packages to ensure completeness and accuracy design.
· Working knowledge of BIM 360 for cloud-based collaboration, model sharing, and project coordination.
· Strong understanding of construction drawings, with specific experience in structurally insulated panels (SIPs) considered a strong asset.
· Familiarity with building codes, construction standards, and manufacturing processes relevant to panelized construction.
· Detail-oriented and solution-focused, with the ability to work effectively within manufacturing and design constraints.
· Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in multidisciplinary teams.
· Passion for sustainable design and a commitment to delivering high-quality, energy-efficient building solutions.
