Role Description
This is for an Environmental Project Manager within BMI's Health & Safety, Sustainability and Environmental (HSSE) team. This is a full-time, hybrid role (2 non-consecutive days in office of Mon and/or Wed and/or Fri) based in Stratford, ON. Some short-term, overnight travel to our remote site locations may be required therefore, comfort with traveling alone is a must.
The responsibilities include reviewing consultant reports and other documentation, developing recommendations for environmental site works including detailed budgets, and managing environmental remediation and compliance projects.
The role involves collaborating with various external consultants, agencies and contractors as well as our internal departments to help with a variety of projects. Internal coordination may include working with our: Site Operations Leads to complete remediation projects; Pre-Construction Team to identify potential environmental requirements; Construction Team to identify potential excess soil requirements; etc.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in environmental consulting and in particular, environmental remediation
- Strong knowledge of environmental policy and regulations
- Proficient project management and organizational skills, with the ability to lead complex projects
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interfacing with various groups and preparing reports, budgets and recommendation summaries
- Willingness and ability to travel to remote, industrial locations
- Ability to walk unassisted across uneven terrain and within buildings typically associated with industrial sites
- Valid G license and access to a vehicle to travel to sites
