Role Description
This is a full-time role for a Chief Urban Farmer, located on-site in the Greater Vancouver Metropolitan Area. The role involves managing and maintaining urban farming projects, planting and harvesting crops, and fostering community engagement through workshops and events. Other key responsibilities include monitoring crop health, supervising volunteers or team members, and ensuring the farm is an inspiring, sustainable space for all stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Strong organizational and leadership skills to manage site operations and team coordination
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with diverse groups
- Passion for sustainability and interest in fostering urban green spaces
- Urban farming expertise, including gardening, planting, and harvesting techniques
- Knowledge of sustainable agricultural practices and eco-friendly landscape management
- Experience with community-building and facilitating workshops and events
- Physical ability to perform hands-on farming work, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Driver’s license is an asset
