As part of our unwavering commitment to safety and operational excellence on every project, we are seeking an experienced HSE Programs Coordinator to champion health and safety initiatives across our projects.
Position Overview
The HSE Programs Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Health, Safety, and Environment team by managing data and reporting, coordinating safety initiatives, organizing audits, and enhancing communication between internal and external stakeholders. This role ensures effective organization and delivery of HSE programs and contributes to the company’s overall safety performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Statistics Gathering & Reporting: Collect, compile, and analyze HSS data to support performance metrics and reporting for internal reviews and client submissions.
- HSE Excellence Submissions: Coordinate and gather information for HSS excellence submissions, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Executive Dashboard Management: Maintain and update the executive dashboard to reflect current HSS performance metrics and trends.
- Monthly Client Statistics Submission: Prepare and submit monthly HSS statistics reports to the client in line with contractual requirements and company standards.
- Quarterly Stand-ups: Organize and facilitate quarterly HSS stand-ups, focusing on safety topics relevant to both home and workplace environments. Stand-ups will educate employees and contractors on safety practices in the office and on-site.
- Newsletter Coordination: Organize the development of monthly HSS newsletters, ensuring that educational and safety-related information is effectively communicated to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Live Safety Talks: Prepare and organize monthly live safety talks for all employees, promoting active engagement in safety practices.
- Reporting: Provide regular updates and reports to the Health, Safety, and Security Director on program performance, metrics, and initiatives.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.), with an emphasis on data handling, report creation, and presentations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in data analysis and reporting.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Education and Experience:
- Post-secondary education in Health and Safety Management, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience in a Health, Safety, and Environment or related field is an asset.
- Familiarity with safety management systems and reporting tools.
- Familiarity with COR auditing and processes.
- Knowledge of legal responsibilities and regulations related to construction site Health and Safety.
- 5+ years of progressive HSE experience, preferred in a construction environment.
