Position Summary
The Project Geologist or Senior Project Geologist will play a lead role in the execution of diamond drilling programs for resource delineation and expansion. The role is a full-time, permanent position and will report directly to the Vice President of Exploration. The exploration office and core logging facility are located in Timmins, Ontario.
The work schedule is 5 days on, 2 days off. The Company will also consider rotational arrangements.
Key Responsibilities
· Assist with coordination and execution of drilling programs, including supervision of drill crews and core logging/cutting personnel
· Liaising and coordinating with construction managers and contractors engaged with surface development programs onsite
· Some core logging, oversight of QA/QC protocols and liaising with analytical laboratories
· Monitoring drill hole progress and downhole surveys for deviation and intercept spacing
· Assistance with hole planning and creation of drill hole layouts
· Assistance with analytical studies and 3D modelling to complement Feasibility Studies
· Coordination of drilling and geotechnical data transfer to master database
· Maintain health, safety and environmental compliance, including monitoring contractors’ work in sensitive areas
Qualifications
The skills required for this position are generally in-line with candidates having 5+ years of industry experience, including:
· Bachelor’s degree in Geology
· Proficiency with core logging, geotechnical logging, sampling and QA/QC procedures
· Ability to visualize and interpret geologic data in 2D and 3D
· Excellent communication and organizational skills involving multidisciplinary personnel
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office and core logging software
· Exposure to and aptitude with GIS, database and 3D software
· Experience with and/or interest in underground drilling and production programs
· Eligibility to work in Canada and register with PGO
· Valid driver’s license

· Competitive compensation commensurate with experience of CAD $105,000 to CAD $150,000 (equivalent daily/ hourly rates for contract position)
