About the Company
Explor Resources Inc, a subsidiary of Galleon Gold Corp., is an exploration and development company focused on advancing the West Cache Gold Project in Timmins, Ontario. The project is approximately 7 km northeast of Pan American Silver’s Timmins West Mine. As the Company transitions through advanced stage exploration toward bulk sampling, we continue to prioritize exploration and new discoveries through targeted drilling programs. We are commencing an 18,000-meter surface drilling program and are seeking highly motivated personnel for full-time and contract positions, including a Junior Geologist or Core Logging Geologist.
Position Summary
The Junior Geologist or Core Logging Geologist will play a key role in the execution of diamond drilling programs for resource delineation and expansion. The role is a full-time, permanent position or a 6-to-12-month contract position and will report directly to the Project Geologist or Senior Project Geologist. The exploration office and core logging facility are located in Timmins, Ontario.
The work schedule is 5 days on, 2 days off with flexibility in the work schedule depending on project demands.
Key Responsibilities
· Core logging and coordinating with Geotechnicians for efficient core processing
· Assistance with analytical studies and 3D modelling to complement Feasibility Studies
· Data capture and entry to Microsoft Office and core logging software
· Maintain health, safety and environmental compliance
Qualifications
The skills required for this position are generally in-line with candidates having 1+ years of industry experience, including:
· Bachelor’s degree in Geology
· Exposure to core logging, sampling and QA/QC procedures
· Ability to visualize and interpret geologic data in 2D and 3D
· Excellent communication and organizational skills
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office
· Exposure to GIS, database and 3D software
· Experience with and/or interest in underground drilling and production programs
· Eligibility to work in Canada and register with PGO
· Valid driver’s license
What We Offer
· Competitive compensation commensurate with experience of CAD $85,000 to CAD $115,000 (equivalent daily/ hourly rates for contract position)
