The Opportunity
The successful candidate will work alongside our team of environmental professionals conducting field work and preparing quality reporting in a fast-paced, client-focused environment. The successful candidate will have a diverse skill set across multiple environmental disciplines and will work on a variety of environmental assessment and survey, permitting, compliance and construction monitoring projects throughout Saskatchewan.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead biophysical and pre-construction field surveys in accordance with established species detection protocols
· Provide environmental monitoring expertise during the construction and reclamation phases of project development
· Conduct desk-top screenings and the development of federal and provincial regulatory applications
· Interact and communicate effectively with multi-disciplinary teams, regulators, and clients
· Participate and comply with corporate / client health and safety protocols
Qualifications
· B.Sc. degree in biology, ecology, argology, environmental sciences, or related field. Preference will be given to a current professional designation registered in Saskatchewan or Alberta
· 5+ years of relevant professional experience. Previous consulting experience to be considered a strong asset
· Minimum of 3 years experience conducting environmental monitoring activities in the O&G and/or Utility sectors
· Proficient with wildlife and plant identification
· Ability to classify wetlands using established classification systems
· Understanding of federal and provincial environmental regulations, guidelines and permitting requirements
· Experience conducting biophysical and pre-construction surveys utilizing established survey protocols
· Previous experience and comfort working in remote locations
· Capable technical writing and organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask
· GIS skills and understanding is an asset
· Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
· Experience, comfort and training with ATV and snowmobile operation
· Valid drivers license
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00-$125,000.00 per year
