Role Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Energy Auditor / Building Performance Specialist with 5+ years of experience to support PRYCO’s growing building performance and advisory services.
This role involves energy audits, building performance analysis, and the development of cost-effective energy-efficiency strategies for commercial, institutional, and municipal buildings, with a focus on existing building performance and capital planning integration.
This role will work closely with PRYCO’s FCA/BCA and building envelope teams to deliver integrated building performance insights.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform energy audits and building performance assessments
- Analyze energy consumption and identify efficiency opportunities
- Develop practical, cost-benefit driven energy conservation strategies
- Prepare detailed audit reports and recommendations
- Support the implementation of energy conservation measures
- Stay current with energy codes, standards, and incentive programs
- Conduct site visits across Edmonton, Calgary, and surrounding regions
- Perform ASHRAE Level I, II, and III energy audits
- Evaluate HVAC, lighting, building envelope, and control systems
- Identify capital improvement opportunities aligned with lifecycle planning
- Support integration of energy upgrades into FCA/BCA reports
- Assist clients in accessing rebates and incentive programs
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in energy auditing
- Strong understanding of building systems and energy performance
- Experience with commercial, institutional, or municipal buildings preferred
- Strong analytical and reporting skills
- Experience with ASHRAE audit standards
- Familiarity with energy modelling tools (e.g., RETScreen, eQUEST, or similar) is an asset
- Experience working with developers, asset managers, or municipalities preferred
- Ability to work independently in field and office environments
- Excellent communication skills
- Valid driver’s license required
Education:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Energy Management, or related field preferred
- Certified Energy Auditor (CEA) or equivalent certification is considered an asset
