Job Overview
Successful Candidate will work on Integration Projects and Strategies in EPO Project Division. This includes and not limited to:
- Refurbishment Integration, Safe Storage, Decommissioning and Sustaining Projects
- Environmental studies and initiatives including OPG environment team's support
- Pickering Indigenous Engagement for Pickering Refurbishment
- Additional support as required
- Project Management Support and expertise to support and advise on technical assessments related to environmental matters particularly in the area of the Fisheries Act, In-Water Works and Aquatic Offsetting.
- Provide support in other areas such as Waste and Soil Management, Groundwater and Contaminated Lands, Spill Management, Biodiversity, Fish and Endangered Species Protection, Water Taking and Environmental Discharges.
- Monitor and oversee vendor environmental performance and compliance during construction through field/site visits and inspections, including but not limited to: Waste and Soil Management, Groundwater and Contaminated Lands, Spill Management, Biodiversity, Fish and Endangered Species Protection, Water Taking and Environmental Discharges.
- Ensure alignment with regulatory and corporate standards. Support providing interpretation and advice on environmental legislation, regulations, and policies, particularly in the area of the Fisheries Act.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with regulatory agencies and stakeholders.
- Manage and obtain necessary regulatory approvals, permits, and licenses.
- Regulatory Liaison & Negotiation: Liaise and negotiate with regulatory bodies (e.g., MECP, MNR, DFO, CNSC, TC, Conservation authorities) to secure and influence issuance and conditions for permits, approvals, and licenses.
- Indigenous Relations Participation: Liaise with the Indigenous Relations team and present to/communicate with the First Nations on environmental matters.
Qualifications
- 4 Year University Degree in Environment /Science Degree, Engineering Degree, Modifications to Nuclear Power Plants. Integration Support for Large Projects.
- Experience in Project Management and significant experience in the application of the Fisheries Act, In-water works and Aquatic Offsetting.
- Significant experience in vendor and construction environmental oversight monitoring.
- Experience in other environmental areas such as Waste and Soil Management, Groundwater and Contaminated Lands, Spill Management, Biodiversity, Fish and Endangered Species Protection, Water Taking and Environmental Discharges.
- Experience in managing and obtaining regulatory approvals and permits. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a track record of effective teamwork.
Pay: $74.00-$84.00 per hour
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Pickering, ON L1W 3J2: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
