We are seeking a motivated and safety-focused Health, Safety & Environment Coordinator to join our team. Compensation and benefits are competitive within the ship repair industry.

Responsibilities

Promote and support positive health, safety, and environmental culture.
Conduct workplace inspections, hazard assessments, safety observations, orientation training for new and existing employees, and perform respiratory fit testing and atmospheric testing.
Monitor compliance with company policies, safe work practices, and regulatory requirements.
Assist with incident reporting, investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of HSE programs and procedures.
Provide HSE guidance and support to employees, supervisors, contractors, and visitors.
Maintain HSE records, reports, and documentation.

Qualifications

Combination of HSE education, training, certifications, and relevant industrial experience.
Knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation, industry standards, and safe work practices.
Experience with gas detection equipment and confined space work is considered an asset.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Ability to work in industrial and outdoor environments, including shipboard, working at heights, and confined-space settings.
Flexibility to accommodate shift changes, overtime, and extended hours as required.
