Shouldice Hospital in Thornhill, the leader in hernia repairs, is looking for a full-time Environmental Services worker to assist in the day to day cleaning and laundry of the hospital.
Candidates must have flexible availability to work as needed, days, evenings, and weekends. Shifts may change based on the needs of the hospital.

Job Description
Shouldice Hospital Laundry and Housekeepers are responsible for sustaining a pristine environment in all areas of the hospital and done with integrity.
- Perform cleaning duties throughout the hospital including enhanced cleaning of all high touch areas
- Regular duties include but not limited to: sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, emptying garbage, cleaning washrooms and patient rooms
- Follow all housekeeping protocols, daily cleaning flow charts, and checklists to ensure the hospital’s standard of care are met
- Load and unload washers and dryers (when needed)
- Fold all items from dryer in the required time frame ( when needed)
- Deliver carts daily to floor and nurses station (when needed)
Qualifications
- Must have strong attention to detail
- 5-year experience in similar role
- Ability to lift to 25 pounds
- Ability to be on your feet for up to 7.5 hours at a time
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends when required
- Knowledge of WHMIS and Chemicals
- Strong command of the English language
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Self-motivated and a team player
- Ability to take direction and seek clarification if required
Pay: $25.37 per hour
