Environmental Services Aide reports directly to the Environmental Services Manager and is responsible for assisting to ensure that laundry services are in provided in full compliance with long term care program standards and all applicable legislation.

The Responsibilities
- Perform all assigned Environmental Services duties in accordance with established schedules, policies and procedures.
- Clean and service dining rooms, kitchen, lounges, activity rooms, bedrooms, bathrooms, offices, reception areas, information stations, storage and other areas as directed.
- Complete floor and carpet care as assigned; dust furniture/equipment, clean walls, clean windows, disinfect equipment and supplies as assigned, clean bathing and shower facilities, sinks, toilets as assigned.
- Conduct waste disposal as assigned.
- Collect and clear dishes from resident rooms as assigned.
- Clean and disinfect resident personal refrigerators as required or assigned.
- Assist with preparations for special events.
- Demonstrate respect for resident privacy and personal belongings in the performance of all duties.
- Promote the rights and dignity of each resident in accordance with the Resident’s Bill of Rights.
- Perform all assigned laundry duties in accordance with established schedules, policies and procedures.
- Wash and dry all home linens and residents’ personal clothing and other items as directed.
- Complete garment care as assigned (ironing, linen and clothing repairs, labelling etc.)
- Retrieve soiled laundry from resident care areas and deliver clean linens and resident clothing as assigned.
- Collaborate with team members to efficiently manage housekeeping and laundry tasks.
- Adhere to established protocols and standards for laundry and housekeeping operations.
- Perform physically demanding work, including standing for extended periods, bending, twisting, and climbing stairs
- Perform other duties as required.
