Reporting to the Health, Safety & Radiation Lead, the
Health & Safety Coordinator is responsible for supporting the implementation and continuous improvement of health and safety programs at Denison's project sites. This role works closely with employees, contractors, and site leadership to promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. The
Health & Safety Coordinator plays a key role in onboarding personnel, supporting emergency preparedness activities, conducting inspections and audits, and providing guidance to site teams to ensure work is performed safely and efficiently. This is a rotational, site-based role based in Northern Saskatchewan.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate health and safety onboarding, orientations, training, and certification tracking for employees and contractors
- Conduct workplace inspections, audits, risk assessments, and field-level safety observations
- Support emergency response planning, preparedness activities, and drills
- Participate in incident investigations and corrective action follow-up
- Maintain safety records, documentation, and performance metrics
- Provide guidance and coaching to employees and contractors on safe work practices
- Support implementation and continuous improvement of health & safety programs, procedures, and initiatives
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements
Requirements
You are a proactive and safety-focused professional who is comfortable working independently in a remote site environment. You have experience supporting health and safety programs in industrial, construction, or mining environments and are confident engaging with workers and contractors to promote safe work practices. In addition, you bring:
- A Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation or equivalent professional certification
- 3-5 years of experience in a health and safety role, preferably within mining, construction, or other industrial environments
- Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation, standards, and best practices
- Experience conducting inspections, audits, incident investigations, and risk assessments
- Experience coordinating safety training, orientations, and certification tracking
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with MS Office and health and safety management systems
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
- A demonstrated commitment to fostering a positive safety culture
