JOB DUTIES
Title: Intermediate Water Resources / Environmental / Civil Engineer – We are looking for a highly motivated individual with excellent project management and coordination, communication, analytical, technical and interpersonal skills to join our team. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to a range of elements for project delivery. Key responsibilities include the following:
- Project Management & Delivery – Lead and manage multidisciplinary engineering and environmental projects from initiation through completion, ensuring deliverables are met on time, within scope, and on budget.
- Technical Report Writing & Documentation – Prepare and review technical reports, studies, master plans, and Environmental Assessment documentation for municipal and private sector clients.
- Pursuit Lead – Leading and writing technical proposals to submit to public and private clients.
- Client & Stakeholder Coordination – Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders, maintaining strong relationships and effectively communicating project findings and recommendations.
- Environmental Assessment & Permitting – Support and lead environmental assessments, permitting applications, and regulatory approval processes in accordance with provincial and federal requirements.
- Stormwater & Wastewater System Analysis – Conduct collection system assessments including flow monitoring, inflow and infiltration (I&I) studies, condition assessments, and retrofit/master plan studies for stormwater and wastewater infrastructure.
- Team Leadership & Mentorship – Provide technical direction and mentorship to junior staff, coordinate interdisciplinary project teams, and contribute to proposal development and business development initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
· University B.Sc. degree in Environmental or Earth Sciences, Engineering, or closely related discipline;
· Minimum five (5) to ten (10) years of experience, preferably with at least three (3) years in the private sector (ideally P.Eng. or P.Eng. eligible);
· Proficient skills in computer applications such as MS Office;
· Evidence of experience and competence in project management and stakeholder/client communication;
· Evidence of experience in large dataset analysis and reporting - including field, technical, academic, and computer information;
· Demonstrated verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills;
· Commitment to individual initiative, critical thinking, and problems solving;
· Valid Class G Drivers License and access to a personal vehicle is required.
The following qualifications will be considered valuable assets:
· M.Sc. or other relevant post-graduate degree
· Registration or eligibility for relevant professional accreditation, certification, or designation, including:
o Professional Engineer, Engineering-in-Training or Licensed Engineering Technologist (P.Eng., E.I.T. or L.E.T)
o Engineering Technologist or Technician (C.E.T. or C.Tech.) – OACETT
o Other relevant designations will be considered and candidates should identify their professional career objectives.
· Experience working with relevant computer software applications, including for:
o GIS and remote sensing (ArcGIS, QGIS)
o Hydrological and/or hydraulic modeling (InfoWorks, PCSWMM, VO, HEC-RAS)
o Survey and Design (AutoCAD)
· Knowledge of Federal, Provincial and Municipal environmental regulations and standards.
