Position Summary
The EHS Specialist will be responsible for supporting Environment, Health & Safety and Loss Prevention programs across SHEIN Canada’s warehouse and supply chain operations. This role will help ensure a safe, compliant, and secure working environment by implementing EHS procedures, conducting inspections and risk assessments, supporting incident investigations, and driving loss prevention initiatives related to asset protection, inventory accuracy, and operational security.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in a warehouse, distribution center, logistics, or supply chain environment, with a strong understanding of workplace safety, risk management, compliance, and loss prevention practices. This position requires the candidate to work fully onsite at the warehouse.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain EHS and Loss Prevention programs, procedures, and standards to support warehouse and supply chain operations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and workplace hazard assessments to identify risks and recommend corrective actions.
- Monitor compliance with applicable health, safety, environmental, and security requirements, including company policies, local regulations, and industry standards.
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of EHS management systems, including documentation, audits, corrective action tracking, and reporting.
- Lead or support investigations of workplace incidents, near misses, injuries, property damage, theft, inventory loss, and other security-related events.
- Prepare incident reports, root cause analyses, corrective action plans, and follow-up documentation to ensure timely resolution.
- Partner with Operations, HR, Security, Facilities, and other cross-functional teams to promote a safe, compliant, and loss-conscious work environment.
- Support emergency preparedness activities, including emergency response plans, evacuation procedures, drills, first aid readiness, and crisis response coordination.
- Deliver or coordinate EHS and LP training, including workplace safety, hazard identification, incident reporting, emergency response, security awareness, and loss prevention practices.
- Conduct internal audits and inspections related to EHS compliance, warehouse safety, physical security, access control, CCTV procedures, inventory handling, and loss prevention controls.
- Monitor and analyze EHS and LP data, including injury trends, incident frequency, shrinkage, inventory discrepancies, security incidents, and audit findings.
- Support subcontractor, vendor, and visitor compliance with company EHS and security requirements while onsite.
- Assist in maintaining accurate records, reports, permits, training logs, inspection results, incident files, and other compliance-related documentation.
- Promote a positive EHS and LP culture by encouraging employee participation, safe work practices, awareness of loss prevention risks, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Security Management, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in EHS, Loss Prevention, Asset Protection, Security, Risk Management, or warehouse operations.
- Experience in a warehouse, distribution center, logistics, retail supply chain, or manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations, environmental compliance practices, risk assessment methods, and incident investigation processes.
- Understanding of loss prevention principles, including asset protection, inventory shrinkage control, access control, CCTV review, internal investigations, and physical security practices.
- First Aid certification from a WSIB-approved training organization is required or must be obtained within the required timeframe.
- Additional certifications related to health and safety, environmental compliance, security, or loss prevention are considered an asset.
- Familiarity with EHS management systems and standards such as ISO 14001, ISO 45001, OHSAS 18001, or similar frameworks is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze data, identify trends, and recommend practical solutions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience maintaining reports, dashboards, audit records, and compliance documentation.
