Water Resources Technician (Engineering)
Hours: Monday – Friday: 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (with the potential of some flexibility)
Salary: $52,958.41 – $66,198.01
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: 16-month contract with an opportunity to continue to grow within the organization.

POSITION DETAILS:
The Water Resources Technician will work in a multi-disciplinary team environment. Working closely with Professional Engineers, the Water Resources Technician’s responsibilities will include water monitoring and evaluation, engineering analysis, information management, report writing and project implementation. This position reports to the Managing Director, Natural Hazards and Infrastructure.
WHAT YOU OFFER:
• University/college education in environmental, water resources engineering or related field.
• One to three years’ experience in a similar position is an asset.
• Knowledge of hydrologic systems and functions
• Knowledge of hydrology and hydraulic modeling with software.
• Knowledge of natural hazards, floodplain and erosion.
• Knowledge of water resources, water quality, flow monitoring, calibration/care of field equipment, and file management.
• Ability to interpret maps, drawings and plans.
• Ability to work as part of a team on projects and studies.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office, ArcGIS software, HEC-RAS, and data processing.
• Excellent report writing skills and project management skills
• Knowledge of ESRI’s Collector and Survey123 for mobile field data collection is an asset.
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills.
• Enthusiasm, determination, and the ability to work independently.
• Bilingualism (French/English) is an asset.
• Valid Class “G” Driver’s License.

LOCATION:
The SNC office is in a rural location in Finch, Ontario, southeast of Ottawa. The successful candidate must have reliable transportation.
