Responsibilities:
As a Junior Geologist, you will be a key part of our technical team, ensuring high-quality data collection from our diamond drilling programs. Duties include:
- Core Processing: Execute all aspects of core logging, including detailed descriptions of lithology, alteration, mineralization, and structural features.
- Data Management: Prepare "quick logs" for immediate drill hole assessment and integrate detailed logging data into the project database.
- Sampling & QAQC: Follow strict sampling protocols and prepare shipments for assay laboratories while adhering to established Quality Assurance/Quality Control procedures.
- Field Exploration: Participate in regional geochemical surveys, including the collection of soil, silt, and rock samples as required.
- Safety & Stewardship: Maintain an unwavering commitment to health, safety, and environmental protection in line with Doubleview Gold’s corporate policies.
Qualifications
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada at the time of application.
- Completion of a post-secondary degree in Geosciences, Geology, or a closely related field.
- 0.5–3 years of relevant industry experience.
- Familiarity with porphyry copper-gold systems and experience with geological logging software is an asset.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Able to work at a remote, live-in exploration camp in Northwest British Columbia.
- Must be capable of lifting and moving core boxes weighing up to 50lbs repeatedly throughout a shift.
- Ability to work outdoors in variable and sometimes extreme mountain weather conditions.
- This is a rotational position (e.g., 4 weeks on / 2 weeks off), requiring long work days and commitment to the rotation schedule from May to December.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $350.00-$500.00 per day
