WF Steel and Crane is looking for an in-house HSE Trainer to mentor, train and work with the employees in our Nisku Shops.
Position Details:
The HSE Coordinator is responsible to train, monitor and evaluate the competency of employees, while also assisting the HSE Manager with additional duties.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate Training Sessions for employees and subcontractors, including Fall Protection, MEWP, Mobile Equipment, Rigging and Overhead Crane Use
- Coordinate, and conduct training sessions across shifts and areas, adapting as needed to meet demands
- Deliver safety presentations and support a positive safety culture
- Lead and participate in impactful safety meetings
- Communicate policies, practices, and updates to workers while staying informed of any changes from HSE Leadership
- Support supervisors and workers in identifying and mitigating hazards
- Administration and execution of mandatory learning requirements: planning, scheduling, coordination, follow-up and reminders. Including external training, as required
- Promoting a strong safety culture by engaging employees and encouraging proactive hazard reporting
- Complete onboarding and orientation of new employees, ensuring all documentation, training, and certifications are completed
- Assist with developing and enhancing JSAs and Safe Work Practices
- Participate in safety initiatives and improvements and be an advocate for safety implementation across all aspects of the company
- Assist in monitoring and maintaining client pre-qualifications including ISNetworld, Comply Works, Avetta etc.,
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a training or adult learning related role (5+ years)
- Previous experience in the Fabrication, Manufacturing, or Construction industry
- Competent in the safe operation of Overhead Cranes, with the ability to train and mentor others
- Comfortable and confident in public speaking
- Advanced knowledge of provincial OH&S regulations & standards
- Intermediate proficiency in MS Office
- Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build positive relationships
