The Opportunity
Terex is seeking an experienced Environmental Geologist or Scientist to join our team in Calgary or Edmonton.
This role is ideal for a motivated environmental professional who enjoys applying technical expertise to complex contaminated site challenges, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to innovative solutions that advance sites toward closure.
As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to lead technically challenging projects, work directly with clients and regulators, and help shape remediation and liability management strategies for a diverse portfolio of projects within Alberta's energy and industrial sectors.
The Role
- Develop conceptual site models and remediation action plans for complex contaminated sites.
- Prepare technical reports and closure strategies that support regulatory approvals and site management objectives.
- Complete site-specific liability assessments and provide technical recommendations to clients.
- Design, manage, and safely execute complex environmental field programs.
- Apply hydrogeological, geochemical, and contaminant fate and transport models to evaluate environmental risks and support decision-making.
- Interpret complex environmental datasets and communicate findings to clients, regulators, and project stakeholders.
- Mentor junior and intermediate staff through technical review, coaching, and project guidance.
You
If you are an experienced professional and have the following qualifications, you are encouraged to apply.
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in Environmental Science, Geoscience, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of environmental consulting experience, including work on complex contaminated site assessment and remediation projects.
- Professional registration or member in training status in Alberta
- Strong understanding of hydrogeology, contaminant hydrogeology, and geochemistry.
- Demonstrated experience developing conceptual site models and site closure strategies.
- Strong working knowledge of Alberta environmental regulations, directives, and guidelines.
- Experience with regulatory guideline adjustments and risk-based approaches is considered an asset.
- Proficiency in technical data analysis, interpretation, and report preparation.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada.
