As an Environmental Engineer/Scientist – Emergency Response, you will play a meaningful role within our Environmental Group. This position gives candidates the unique experience of working in a matrix business performing work with skilled professionals across North America in a collaborative environment with opportunities for specialization and advancement. The role can be based out of our Edmonton or Calgary, AB offices.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
Emergency Spill Response:
Field Work:
- Participate in emergency spill response projects
- Responsible for contractor oversight tasks including containment/confinement of spills, drilling, monitoring well installation, soil excavation, product removal, stream rehabilitation, site restoration, etc.
- Conduct water level monitoring, groundwater sampling, surface water sampling, and soil sampling
- Drone/UAV operation and surveying
- Industrial hygiene air monitoring and sampling
Report Writing:
- Assist with preparation of proposals, work plans, reports, and regulatory submissions on behalf of clients
- Create progress updates and draft reports to be reviewed by supervisor or project manager
- Process, analyze, and present data for review by project manager
- Assist in the preparation of project related memorandums and reports
- Assist other team members and project managers with report writing
- Researching regulatory information using various resources

What you bring to the team:
- B.Sc. (Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Engineering (Environmental, Civil, Geological, Chemical or equivalent)
- 2 - 3 years of experience required, co-op experience would be considered a benefit
- Flexible work schedule, ability to work weekends, holidays and nights when required
- Previous experience working in a consulting environment would be an asset
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Office
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are vital to this role in order to effectively express technical information to multiple audiences including subcontractors, field staff, clients, colleagues, etc.
- Work as a team member to exceed client expectations
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
- High level of attention to detail, analytical skills along with time management skills to be able to meet deadlines
- Field work will require working long hours, working in inclement weather conditions, and lifting up to 50 lbs, when required
- Willingness and desire to travel, with the ability to work remotely and internationally
- This position will be roughly 70% field and 30% office, with the option to work from home in our hybrid model.
